What we're doing!

We are so excited to be traveling to Cambodia to create independence for women who have suffered through horrible treatment and who have known only one way of life - commercial sex trafficking. These women were most likely sold into this industry at a young age, some even as young as 5 or 6 years old. We will be helping to create a new way of life for those who have managed to find a way out by teaching them a skill they can use to gain their freedom. As Transitions Global has stated, "Freedom without a future is another form of slavery;  Without viable and sustainable career and life skills, a girl rescued from trafficking has few opportunities and little direction. But with these needs addressed she has a restored sense of dignity and a foundation on which to believe in herself and to pursue her dreams." Through our personal passion and expertise in the art of hair we will guide these women towards becoming successful hairdressers who will cater to wealthy Cambodians and Ex-pats. This will in turn create a stable livelihood helping to break the vicious cycle that connects women of poverty to commercial sex-trafficking.

Stay tuned for more updates and a more in depth description of what Sarah and I will be doing in Phnom Penh! We will also be adding a little more information on the foundation we are traveling to work with!! With love,
